QA / Test Automation Engineer

About Us

Zoth is a Full Stack Stablecoin Neobank that bridges real-world assets with on-chain liquidity. We are building compliant, yield-generating financial products used globally by institutional and retail participants.

Position Overview

We're making our first dedicated Quality Assurance hire. You'll own quality end-to-end for our web application: testing it by hand the way a real (and careless, and malicious) user would, writing the SOPs and test cases that make our testing repeatable, and building automated test suites so every release is verified without someone re-checking everything manually.

Because this is our first QA hire, you won't be slotting into an existing process — you'll be building it. You'll choose our tooling, set up our first automated test suites, define how we track bugs and sign off on releases, and raise the quality bar across the team. This is a high-ownership role for someone who's comfortable working independently and setting standards.

Zoth · Full-time · Remote / Hybrid · 2–4 years experience.

What you'll do

  • Manual & exploratory testing — Use the product to find bugs before customers do, focusing on edge cases: invalid inputs, boundary conditions, failure states, network interruptions, and unexpected user behavior.
  • Write and maintain test cases & SOPs — Turn features into precise, repeatable test steps with clear expected results, so testing is consistent no matter who runs it.
  • Build test automation — Write and maintain automated tests (end-to-end, integration, and API) in JavaScript/TypeScript, and integrate them into our CI pipeline so every code change is automatically verified.
  • Report and track bugs — Write clear, reproducible bug reports (steps, environment, severity) and run regression testing so fixed bugs stay fixed.
  • Own release quality — Be the person who gives (or withholds) sign-off, and communicate risk clearly to the team.
  • Establish QA process — Define severity levels, test coverage expectations, environments, and workflows from the ground up.

What we're looking for

  • 2–4 years in a QA / software testing role, covering both manual testing and test automation.
  • Hands-on automation experience with a modern JS/TS testing framework — e.g. Playwright or Cypress (end-to-end) and Jest or Vitest (unit/integration).
  • Comfortable in the JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem — able to read the application codebase and write clean automation code in JS/TS.
  • API testing experience — Postman, REST clients, or code-based API tests.
  • Solid testing fundamentals — writing test cases, exploratory testing, regression testing, and clear bug reporting.
  • Familiarity with Git and running tests in a CI environment (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
  • Strong written communication — your bug reports and SOPs are documents other people rely on.
  • Able to establish the QA function from scratch — design the overall testing architecture, author the SOPs, and set up the QA process independently, without an existing framework to inherit.
  • Self-directed — able to make tooling decisions and set standards with minimal oversight.
  • Web3 familiarity — has worked in the web3 space and understands blockchain and crypto.
  • Nice to have: experience being an early or first QA hire; familiarity with Linear, Jira, or TestRail; awareness of performance, accessibility, and basic security testing; experience testing complex, stateful flows (payments, transactions); basic understanding of CI/CD and how automated tests gate deployments.

Perks and benefit

  • What success looks like in the first 90 days: a documented set of SOPs and test cases for our core user flows; a working automated test suite running in CI on every change; and a clear, agreed process for logging bugs, triaging severity, and signing off releases.
  • Apply by sending your updated CV and a brief cover letter to avanish@zoth.io with the subject line: Application – QA / Test Automation Engineer.
